Alabama Rivers Educator Workshop – Lee County Historical Society

Calling all educators, outreach and Extension specialists, classroom teachers and volunteers who work with 4th-12th grades!

SAVE THE DATE for a workshop series based on AWW Founder Dr. Bill Deutsch’s book, Alabama Rivers, A Celebration and Challenge. Each workshop will focus on different select modules from the curriculum based on the book, and will cover a range of topics from natural and human history, geology, geography, and art as they relate to Alabama’s rivers. More information on venues and registration coming soon.

Participants who complete the workshop receive:

  • Certification as an Alabama Rivers Educator
  • Copy of the Alabama Rivers, A Celebration and Challenge by Dr. Bill Deutsch
  • Copy of An Educator’s Guide to Alabama Rivers
  • Access to online digital resources
  • Continuing Education Units from Auburn University
  • Professional Development Hours through PowerSchool
