Workshop Description:

Alabama Watershed Stewards (AWS) is a statewide science-based educational program that promotes healthy watersheds, increases understanding of water pollution, and provides the knowledge and tools needed to prevent and resolve local water quality problems.

Stewardship means taking the responsibility to care for the well-being of something that is valued. Watershed stewardship is for everyone and all are welcome, we all live in a watershed and depend on its valuable resources.

In this one-day workshop, learn about how you can protect and restore Alabama’s abundant water resources ranging from fast-flowing mountain streams to large, lazy rivers to picturesque coastlines.

During the training you will learn about:

  • Watershed Systems: What they are and how they work
  • Watershed Quality: Learn about water quality and quantity in Alabama
  • How you can improve watershed function
  • Community-driven watershed management
  • Much more!
