Exploring the Cahaba: Alabama’s Living River

Location: Cahaba Environmental Center 
Description: Are you an educator who wants to learn more about the famous Cahaba River, known as one of the most biodiverse rivers in the entire world? The Cahaba River, the longest undammed river in our state, has been named by World Wildlife Fund and Sierra Club as one of the top five rivers in the world for biodiversity. This three day workshop is being sponsored by Legacy, Inc. and will take place at the new Cahaba Environmental Center at Living River , managed by McDowell Environmental Center. Alabama Water Watch and Alabama 4-H Staff will certify participants will in the “Exploring Alabama’s Living Streams” as well as Project Wet. We will wade the waters, flip rocks, canoe, and learn the same hands-on way that we teach our students. You will definitely go home inspired to get youth out in nature.This workshop is limited to 20 participants, so apply today! Deadline for application is May 29th. Please note that all Legacy workshops require a non-refundable application fee ( $75 for non-partners, $50 for Legacy Partners).
